Compounds for controlling insects and representatives of the order acarina

An insecticidal and acaricidal composition which comprises an insecticidally or acaricidally effective amount of at least one compound of the formula

• in which
• A1 and A2 are independent of one another and are in each case a mono- or bicyclic aryl;
• A1 is substituted with a substituent (R3a)n1 and A2 with a substituent (R3b)n2;
• R1 is —CN;
• R2 is hydrogen, —OH, C1-C6alkyl, C1-C6alkoxy, C3-C6cycloalkyl, C3-C6alkenyl, C3-C6alkynyl, halo-C1-C6alkyl, halo-C3-C6alkenyl, halo-C3-C6alkynyl, benzyl or benzoyl, in which the benzyl or benzoyl radical is unsubstituted or mono- to trisubstituted in the aromatic ring by substituents which are independent of one another and selected from the group consisting of halogen, —CN, NO2, C1-C6alkyl, C1-C6alkoxy, halo-C1-C6alkyl and halo-C1-C6alkoxy;
• C1-C6alkoxy-C1-C6alkyl, cyano-C1-C6alkyl, —C(═X)—R7, —OC(═O)—R7, —C(═O)—C(═O)—R7, —S(═O)pN(R6)2 wherein the two R6 groups may be the same or different;
• cyano, —C1-C6alkyl-N(R10)—C(═O)—R8, —C1-C6alkyl-S—C(═S)—R8, —C1-C6alkyl-S(═O)p—R9, —S(═O)p—R9, or —CH2—N(R10)—SO2—R9;
• R3a and R3b are independently of each other halogen, C1-C6alkyl, C2-C4alkenyl, C2-C4alkynyl, halo-C1-C6alkyl, halo-C2-C4alkenyl, halo-C2-C4alkynyl, C1-C6alkoxy, halo-C1-C6alkoxy, C2-C6alkenyloxy, C2-C6alkynyloxy, halo-C2-C6alkenyloxy, halo-C2-C6alkynyloxy, —SF5, —CHO, —C(═O)—C1-C6alkyl, —C(═O)-halo-C1-C6alkyl, —C(═O)—OC1-C6alkyl, —C(═O)—O-halo-C1-C6alkyl, —O—C(═O)N(R6)2 wherein the two R6 groups may be the or different, —CN, —NO2, —S(═O)2N(R6)2 wherein the two R6 groups may be the same or different, —S(═O)p—C1-C6alkyl, —S(═O)p-halo-C1-C6alkyl, —O—S(═O)p—C1-C6alkyl, —O—S(═O)p-halo-C1-C6alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or benzyloxy, each of the phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or benzyloxy radicals being unsubstituted or mono- to pentasubstituted in the aromatic ring by substituents which are independent of one another and selected from the group consisting of halogen, cyano, NO2, C1-C6alkyl, halo-C1-C6alkyl, C1-C6alkoxy and halo-C1-C6alkoxy;
• n1 is 3 or 4;
• n2 is 1 or 2;
• X is O or S;
• p is 0, 1 or 2;
• R5 radicals independently of one another are H or C1-C8alkyl;
• R6 radicals independently of one another are H, C1-C8alkyl, C3-C6cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl, the phenyl or benzyl group in the aromatic ring being unsubstituted or mono- to trisubstituted by substituents which are independent of one another and selected from the group consisting of halogen, —CN, NO2, C1-C6alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, halo-C1-C6alkyl and halo-C1-C6alkoxy;
• or two alkyl radicals R6 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded form a five- to seven-membered ring in which a CH2 group may be replaced by a hetero atom selected from the group consisting of O and S, or by NH, and where the five- to seven-membered ring is unsubstituted or mono- or disubstituted by C1-C4alkyl;
• R7 is H, C1-C8alkyl, C2-C8alkenyl, halo-C1-C8alkyl, halo-C2-C8alkenyl, C1-C8alkoxy, halo-C1-C8alkoxy, C3-C6cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy, benzyloxy or —N(R6)2 wherein the two R6 groups may Pe the same or different;
• R8 is C1-C8alkyl, C1-C8alkoxy, halo-C1-C8alkyl, halo-C1-C8alkoxy, C1-C8alkylthio, phenyl, benzyl or —N(R6)2 wherein the two R6 groups may be the same or different;
• R9 is C1-C6alkyl, halo-C1-C4alkyl or aryl which is unsubstituted or mono- to trisubstituted by substituents which are independent of one another and selected from the group consisting of C1-C6alkyl, C2-C4alkenyl, C2-C4alkynyl, C1-C4alkoxy, halogen, cyano, halo-C1-C4alkyl, halo-C2-C4alkenyl, halo-C2-C4alkynyl, halo-C1-C4alkoxy and nitro;
• and
• R10 is H, C1-C6alkyl, C3-C6cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl, the phenyl and benzyl radicals being unsubstituted or mono- to trisubstituted in the aromatic ring by substituents which are independent of one another and selected from the group consisting of C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, halogen, cyano, halo-C1-C4alkyl, halo-C1-C4alkoxy and nitro;
• or, an E/Z isomer, E/Z isomer mixtures and/or tautomers thereof, in each case in free form or in salt form.
