Abstract
An oral antiplaque composition comprising an orally acceptable vehicle and an effective antiplaque amount of silver zeolite and a stabilizing amount of a chloride salt.

A method of stabilizing an oral composition containing silver zeolite as an antiplaque agent which comprises preparing a composition comprised of an orally acceptable vehicle and an effective amount of a silver zeolite, incorporating in the composition a color stabilizing amount of a slat selected from the group consisting of chloride, acetate and citrate salts, whereby the composition is stabilized during storage against discoloration by silver oxidation.
