Abstract
A method of screening a water soluble gold complex for use as a sensitizer in a silver halide photographic element comprised of experimentally measuring the electrochemical potential of the gold complex and then determining if the electrochemical potential falls within a predetermined utility window.
Claims10
A method of screening a water soluble gold complex for use as a chemical sensitizer in a silver halide photographic element comprised of experimentally measuring the electrochemical potential of the gold complex and then comparing the measured value to a predetermined utility window of −380 mV to −850 mV versus SCE to determine if the electrochemical potential falls within the predetermined utility window.
A method of screening a water soluble gold complex for use as a chemical sensitizer in a silver halide photographic element comprised of experimentally measuring the eletrochemical potential of the gold complex and then comparing the measured value to a predetermined utility window to determine if the electrochemical potential falls within the predetermined utility window;
- wherein the electrochemical potential is measured in an aqueous system using a sulfate electrolyte and a gold electrode.
