Abstract
In a method of treating a viral infection involving activation of NK cells, the improvement comprising administering to a patient receiving such treatment an effective NK-cell-activity facilitating amount of a histamine H2 or 5-HT1A receptor agonist.

In a method of treating a viral infection in a patient through activation of NK cells, the improvement comprising administering to the patient an effective NK-cell-activity facilitating amount of a histamine H2 or 5-HT1A receptor agonist.
A method for the treatment of hepatitis virus infections in vivo, comprising:
- identifying a patient having a hepatitis virus infection, and
- administering to said patient a first composition comprising interferon-α and a second composition having agonist activity for histamine H2 or 5-HT1A receptors.
