## Abstract

Wnt-7a polypeptides and polynucleotides and methods for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing Wnt-7a polypeptides and polynucleotides in therapy, and diagnostic assays for such.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An isolated polynucleotide comprising the polynucleotide of SEQ ID NO:1.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

An expression vector comprising the polynucleotide sequence of claim 1, encoding a polypeptide sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 when said expression vector is present in a compatible host cell.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A process for producing a recombinant host cell which comprises the step of introducing the expression vector of claim 2 into a cell such that the host cell, under appropriate culture conditions, produces said polypeptide.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

A recombinant host cell produced by the process of claim 3.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

A membrane of a recombinant host cell of claim 4 expressing said polypeptide.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

A process for producing a polypeptide which comprises culturing a host cell of claim 4 under conditions sufficient for the production of said polypeptide and recovering said polypeptide from the culture.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1 consisting of the polynucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1, comprising a polynucleotide sequence encoding the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:2.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The isolated polynucleotide of claim 1, encoding the polypeptide consisting of the polypeptide set forth in SEQ ID NO:2.
