Abstract
A method and an apparatus for plasma-chemical production of nitrogen monoxide is used to produce inhalation gas enriched with nitrogen monoxide for medical purposes. The nitrogen-monoxide production is achieved through the use of a dielectric barrier discharge created in a process gas containing nitrogen and oxygen.
Claims11
A method for plasma-chemical production of nitrogen monoxide by reaction of nitrogen and oxygen, which comprises:
- passing a process gas containing nitrogen and oxygen through a discharge zone of dielectric barrier gas pulse discharges;
- and
- using the gas discharges to produce a non-thermal plasma with a gas temperature of at least 400° C. and thereby producing nitrogen monoxide.
