Abstract
A disk for a disk drive system includes a disk having a track format region including a spoke field region. The spoke field region has a single binary bit to identify angular position of a track with respect to disk head of the disk drive system.
Claims13
A disk for a disk drive system comprising:
- a disk having spoke field regions to identify angular position of a track with respect to a disk head of the disk drive;
- and
- wherein each spoke field region comprises the least significant bit (LSB) of a generated vector in a pseudorandom sequence of generated vectors.
A disk drive system system comprising:
- a disk drive;
- a disk operatively associated with the disk drive, said disk having a plurality of track format regions for a track and each track format region including a spoke field region having a single binary bit to identify angular position of a track on the disk with respect to at least one disk head of the disk drive system;
- and
- a spoke identification circuit to generate a spoke ID from a sequence of bits provided from the spoke field region of sequential ones of the plurality of track format regions.
