Abstract
Compositions of proteins with tendon/ligament-like tissue inducing activity are disclosed. The compositions are useful in the treatment of tendinitis and tendon or ligament defects and in related tissue repair.
Claims5
A chimeric DNA molecule comprising a DNA sequence encoding a propeptide from a member of the TGF-β superfamily of proteins linked in correct reading from to a DNA sequence encoding an amino acid sequence encoding a mature polypeptide, said polypeptide selected from the group consisting of Bone Morphogenetic Protein-12, BMP-13 and MP52 polypeptides.
A heterodimeric polypeptide molecule comprising one monomer having the amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of BMP-12, BMP-13 and MP52 polypeptides, and one monomer having the amino acid sequence of a polypeptide of the TGF-β superfamily.
A heterodimeric polypeptide molecule wherein each monomer comprises an independently selected amino acid sequence encoding a polypeptide selected from BMP-12, BMP-13 and MP-52.
