Polymerizable composition, process for producing cross linked polymers, and cross-linkable polymers

A composition comprising

• (a) a catalytic amount of a one-component catalyst for metathesis polymerization, which one-component catalyst is selected from the group consisting of ruthenium and osmium compounds of the formulas XXV to XXVf

• (R94R95R96P)L8L10Me2+(Z1−)2 (XXVe)
• (R94R95R96P)L8(L9)mMe2+(Z1−)2 (XXVf)
• wherein
• Me is Ru or Os;
• Z in formulas XXV to XXVe is H−, cyclopentadienyl, Cl−, Br−, BF4−, PF6−, SbF6−, AsF6−, CF3SO3−, C6H5—SO3−, 4-methyl-C6H4—SO3−, 3,5-dimethyl-C6H3—SO3−, 2,4,6-trimethyl-C6H2—SO3− and 4—CF3—C6H4—SO3—;
• or
• Z in formula XXVf is H−, cyclopentadienyl, BF4−, PF6−, SbF6−, AsF6−, CF3SO3−, C6H5—SO3−, 4-methyl-C6H4—SO3−, 3,5-dimethyl-C6H3—SO3−, 2,4,6-trimethyl-C6H2—SO3− and 4-CF3—C6H4—SO3—;
• or
• R94, R95 and R96 independently of one another are C1-C6alkyl, or cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl or cyclopentyloxy or cyclohexyloxy which are unsubstituted or substituted by one to three C1-C4alkyl, or phenyl or benzyl or phenoxy or benzyloxy which are unsubstituted by one to three C1-C4alkyl;
• L8 is C6-C16arene or C5-C16heteroarene which are unsubstituted or substituted by one to three C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, —OH, —F or —Cl;
• L9 is C1-C6alkyl-CN, benzonitrile or benzylnitrile;
• and
• L10 is H2O or C1-C6alkanol;
• and
• (b) at least one polymer with strained cycloalkenylene radicals bonded in the polymer backbone, alone or mixed with a strained cycloolefin.
