Abstract
In order to promote solubilization or suspension of 4-oxo-8-[4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoylamino]-2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran or its hydrate (pranlukast) in water, at least one component selected from surfactants, water-soluble cellulose derivatives and water-soluble vinyl polymers is formulated together with pranlukast. Thus, it is possible to provide an aqueous liquid pharmaceutical composition containing higher concentration of pranlukast and having good properties.

An aqueous liquid pharmaceutical composition which comprises 4-oxo-8-[4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoylamino]-2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran or its hydrate and a surfactant.
A method for inhibiting eosinocyte infiltration which comprises administering an effective amount of 4-oxo-8-[4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoylamino]-2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran or its hydrate to a subject in need of such inhibition.
A method for treating delayed type allergic conjunctivitis which comprises administering an effective amount of 4-oxo-8-[4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoylamino]-2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran or its hydrate to a subject in need of such treatment.
A method for improving solubility of 4-oxo-8-[4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoylamino]-2-(tetrazol-5-yl)-4H-1-benzopyran or its hydrate which comprises incorporating a surfactant therewith.
