Abstract
Disclosed are novel compounds of formula I wherein R1, R2, R3, L, X and Y are as defined in the specification. These compounds are useful in the treatment of conditions mediated by nuclear receptors, in particular the Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) and the Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor (PPAR) families. Such conditions include diabetes and obesity.

A compound of formula I
- wherein
- R1 is hydrogen or C1-6-alkyl;
- and
- X and Y are independently O, N or S;
- and
- R2 is hydrogen or C1-6-alkyl;
- and
- R3 is hydrogen, C1-8-alkyl, aryl or arylcarbonylaryl;
- and
- R2 and R3 may form a ring, which ring is optionally substituted with ═O;
- and
- L is straight or branched C1-6-alkyl optionally substituted with ═O, OH or halogen;
- or a salt thereof with a pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base, or any optical isomer or mixture of optical isomers, or any tautomeric forms.
