Abstract
Stereoisomers of carbocyclic amine compounds such as amino tetralins are separated by subjecting a mixture of the stereoisomers to reaction with an acylating agent in the presence of the enzyme Pseudomonas capacia lipase which effect selective acylation of one of the stereoisomers to form a separable amide, whilst leaving the other stereoisomer substantially unchanged.
Claims8
A process of isolating a stereoisomer of a carbocyclic amine compound from a mixture containing two or more such stereoisomers, which comprises subjecting the mixture to reaction with an acylating agent in the presence of the enzyme Pseudomonas cepacia lipase to effect selective acylation of one said stereoisomer whilst leaving other said stereoisomers substantially unchanged, and separating the selectively acylated carbocyclic amine stereoisomer from the reaction mixture.
