Abstract
The nucleotide sequence of Tc100, a gene encoding PTc100, a new Trypanosoma antigen, and the amino acid sequence of PTc100 are described. Tc100 and PTc100, or fragments thereof, modified or otherwise, can be used directly or indirectly for the detection of Trypanosoma cruzi, or for the monitoring of the infection generated by Trypanosoma cruzi, in man or in animals.
Claims20
Isolated and/or purified monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies that are obtained by immunological reaction of a human or animal organism to an immunogenic agent that binds to anti-Trypanosoma cruzi antisera, said immunogenic agent being selected from the group consisting of:
- a cytoplasmic protein of Trypanosoma cruzi with an apparent molecular mass of about 100 kDa and having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2;
- and
- an immunogenic fragment of said cytoplasmic protein.
Isolated and/or purified monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies obtained by immunological reaction of a human or animal organism to an immunogenic agent consisting of a cytoplasmic protein of Trypanosoma cruzi with an apparent molecular mass of about 100 kDa that binds to anti-Trypanosoma cruzi antisera.
Isolated and/or purified monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies that specifically bind to one or more epitopes of a cytoplasmic antigen of Trypanosoma cruzi that (a has an apparent molecular mass of about 100 kDa and (b) has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2.
