Abstract
Disclosed are compositions useful in inks suitable for ink jet printing. The compositions comprising a black dye of specified formula and a dye of the formula (A) or salt thereof: wherein: R1 is C1-4-alkoxy or C1-4-alkyl; R2 is H or C1-4-alkyl; and R3 and R4 are each independently H, C1-4-alkyl or C1-4-hydroxyalkyl;

A composition comprising a black dye and a dye of Formula (A) or salt thereof:
- wherein:
- R1 is C1-4-alkoxy or C1-4-alkyl;
- R2 is H or C1-4-alkyl;
- and
- R3 and R4 are each independently H, C1-4-alkyl or C1-4-hydroxyalkyl;
- wherein the black dye is selected from dyes of the Formula (3), (4), (5), (6) or (7) and salts thereof:
- wherein:
- B is 1,4-phenylene carrying two groups selected from the group consisting of C1-4-alkyl and C1-4-alkoxy;
- m is 1 or 2;
- and
- R6 is vinyl sulphonyl, hydroxyethyl sulphonyl or a group which is convertible to vinyl sulphonyl when treated with aqueous alkali.

- R6 is vinyl sulphonyl, hydroxyethyl sulphonyl or a group which is convertible to vinyl sulphonyl when treated with aqueous alkali.
