Abstract
Transparent solid microspheres that contain titania plus alumina, zirconia, and/or silica in a total content of at least about 75% by weight, based on the total weight of the solid microspheres, wherein the total content of alumina, zirconia, and titania is greater than the content of silica.
Claims33
Transparent solid microspheres comprising:
- titania and at least one of alumina, zirconia, and silica, wherein the total content of the titania plus alumina, zirconia and/or silica is at least about 75% by weight, the total content of titania, alumina, and zirconia is greater than the content of silica, and the titania content is about 10% by weight to about 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the microspheres.
Transparent, solid microspheres comprising a microcrystalline glass-ceramic structure, said microspheres comprising:
- titania and at least one of alumina, zirconia, and silica, wherein the total content of the titania plus alumina, zirconia and/or silica is at least about 75% by weight, the total content of titania, alumina, and zirconia is greater than the content of silica, and the titania content is present is an amount of at least about 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the solid microspheres.
Transparent, solid, fused microspheres comprising a microcrystalline glass-ceramic structure, said microspheres comprising:
- titania and at least one of alumina, zirconia, and silica, wherein the total content of the titania plus alumina, zirconia and/or silica is at least about 75% by weight, the total content of titania, alumina, and zirconia is greater than the content of silica, and the titania content is present is an amount of at least about 10% by weight, based on the total weight of the solid microspheres.
