Abstract
Novel stem cell factors, oligonucleotides encoding the same, and methods of production, are disclosed. Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of treating disorders involving blood cells are also disclosed.
Claims11
An isolated DNA sequence for use in securing expression in a procaryotic or eukaryotic host cell of a polypeptide product having an amino acid sequence sufficiently duplicative of that of naturally-occurring non-human stem cell factor to allow possession of a hematopoietic biological activity of naturally occurring stem cell factor, said DNA sequence selected from among:
- (a) DNA sequences set out in FIG. 14B, FIG. 14C or their complementary strands;
- (b) DNA sequences which hybridize to the DNA sequences defined in (a) or fragments thereof, the polypeptide fragment encoded by said DNA possessing hematopoietic biological activity;
- (c) DNA sequences differing from the isolated DNAs of (a) or (b) in nucleotide sequence due to the degeneracy of the genetic code, and which encode a polypeptide product having a hematopoietic biological activity.
