Abstract
The invention discloses a metallic coating method which is characterized by applying a dispersion formed by dispersing aluminum flakes which have been surface-treated with a C8-C18 alky ester of phosphoric acid in an organic solvent, onto an uncured coated surface of a paint-coated object, then applying onto the dispersion-applied surface a clear paint, and thereafter simultaneously curing these coating films under heating. According to this method, the aluminum flakes are oriented in parallel with the coated surface, enabling to form a metallic coating film which is white and excels in metallic luster (glittering effect) and furthermore exhibits strong flip-flop properties.
