Abstract
A process for providing an outer layer on a supporting substrate including mixing an outer layer material with fluorinated carbon and zinc oxide to form a filled outer layer material, and providing at least one of the filled outer layer(s) onto the supporting substrate, where bleeding of contaminants to imaging members is decreased or eliminated.

A process for providing an outer layer on a supporting substrate comprising:
- a) mixing an outer layer material with fluorinated carbon and zinc oxide in an amount of from about 1 to about 15 percent by weight of the material in the outer layer to form a filled outer layer material;
- and
- b) subsequently applying at least one layer of said filled outer layer material on said supporting substrate.
A process for providing an outer layer on a bias charging member comprising:
- a) mixing an outer layer material with fluorinated carbon and zinc oxide in an amount of from about 1 to about 15 percent by weight of the material in the outer layer to form a filled outer layer material;
- and
- b) subsequently applying at least one layer of said filled outer layer material on said bias charging member.
A process for providing an outer layer on a supporting substrate comprising:
- a) mixing a material with fluorinated carbon and zinc oxide in an amount of from about 1 to about 15 percent by weight of the material in the outer layer to form a filled outer layer material;
- and
- b) subsequently applying at least one of layer said filled outer layer material on said supporting substrate, wherein said filled outer layer has a volume resistivity of from about 105 to about 1012 ohm-cm.
A process for providing an outer layer on a supporting substrate comprising:
- a) mixing a material selected from the group consisting of fluoroelastomer and polyamide, with fluorinated carbon and zinc oxide in an amount of from about 1 to about 15 percent by weight of the material in the outer layer to form a filled outer layer material;
- and
- b) subsequently applying at least one layer of said filled outer layer material on said supporting substrate, wherein said fluorinated carbon is selected from the group consisting of a fluorinated carbon having a fluorine content of about 62 weight percent, a fluorinated carbon having a fluorine content of about 11 weight percent, a fluorinated carbon having a fluorine content of about 28 weight percent, and a fluorinated carbon having a fluorine content of about 65 weight percent.
