Abstract
Composition comprising water soluble polymer, such as cellulose ethers, guar, or derivatives thereof and surfactant, such as sorbitan esters, improves dispersibility of polymer in aqueous media.
Claims8
A composition consisting essentially of (a) at least one cellulose ether selected from the group consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose, ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose, methylhydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose and methylhydroxypropyl cellulose and (b) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearates,
- wherein the cellulose ether is present in an amount of from about 98% to about 99.9%, the surfactant is present in an amount of from about 0.1% to about 2%, and
- the particle size distribution of the composition is such that about 95% of the particles have a size less than about 425 microns.
