Abstract
Pyrazole intermediates in a method for the preparation of β-amino acid compounds are provided. The method includes contacting an amine nucleophile with an α,β-unsaturated amide compound in the presence of a chiral Lewis acid complex. The chiral Lewis acid complex is formed from an azophilic metal salt and a chiral bisoxazolinylmethane compound. The selective amidolysis of one enantiomer of the β-aminoamide product is also described.
