Abstract
Nucleic acids (SEQ ID NOs: 1-3) encoding a Plasmodium falciparum liver stage antigen, the LSA-3 immunogenic polypeptide, recombinant vectors containing the nucleic acids, and methods of making the polypeptide using the nucleic acids and vectors are disclosed.

An isolated nucleic acid, consisting of one of the following sequences:
- (a) a linked succession of nucleotides as depicted in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, or
- (b) a linked succession of nucleotides as depicted in SEQ ID NO:
- 2,
- (c) a linked succession of nucleotides as depicted in SEQ ID NO:
- 3, or
- (d) a linked succession of nucleotides which are fully complementary to the linked succession of nucleotides of SEQ ID NO:
- 1, 2, or 3.
