Abstract
A nonaqueous secondary battery is disclosed, comprising a positive electrode sheet containing a lithium-containing transition metal oxide as a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode sheet containing a negative electrode material capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, wherein a current collector of said positive electrode sheet is made of an aluminum foil containing 0.6 to 2% by weight of manganese and not more than 1.5% by weight of magnesium and has a thickness of 5 to 200 μmm. The positive electrode current collector has improved mechanical strength against stress imposed during activation and charge and discharge cycles.

A nonaqueous secondary battery comprising a positive electrode sheet containing a lithium-containing transition metal oxide as a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode sheet containing a negative electrode material capable of intercalating and deintercalating lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt,
- wherein a current collector of said positive electrode sheet is made of an aluminum foil containing 1.05 to 1.8% by weight of manganese and 0.1 to 1.4% by weight of magnesium, and has a thickness of 5 to 200 μm.
