Abstract
A gum base including a siloxane polymer, a polar polymer and optionally a filler, chewing gums made from the gum base as well as methods for manufacturing chewing gum and gum bases are disclosed.
Claims29
A chewing gum base comprising:
- a siloxane polymer that is solid at room temperature and has an average molecular weight of approximately 300,000 to about 1,000,000;
- and
- a polar polymer.
A chewing gum comprising:
- a water soluble portion;
- and
- a water insoluble portion including a siloxane polymer that is solid at room temperature and has an average molecular weight of approximately 300,000 to about 1,000,000;
- and
- a polar polymer.
2 more elements
A method for producing chewing gum base comprising the steps of:
- mixing a siloxane polymer that is solid at room temperature and has an average molecular weight of approximately 300,000 to about 1,000,000 and a polar polymer with chewing gum base components in the production of a chewing gum base.
