Claims23
An attenuated Salmonella mutant, wherein said mutant constitutively expresses Vi antigen, and wherein in said mutant, the vipR promoter is replaced by a constitutive promoter, so as to cause constitutive expression of viaB.
A vaccine against typhoid fever comprising:
- (A) a pharmaceutically effective amount of an attenuated Salmonella typhi mutant, wherein said mutant constitutively expresses Vi antigen, and wherein in said mutant, the vipR promoter is replaced by a constitutive promoter, so as to cause constitutive expression of viaB;
- and
- (B) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
