Abstract
Antiviral and antifungal compositions comprising a mixture of a ferrous salt and an aqueous plant extract of pomegranate rind, Viburnum plicatum leaves or flowers, tea leaves or maple leaves are disclosed.

An anti-bacteriophage composition comprising an effective concentration of a mixture of a ferrous salt and an aqueous extract of a plant selected from Viburnum plicatum leaves or flowers, and maple leaves.
A method of preventing growth of or killing bacteriophage, which method comprises contacting the bacteriophage with an effective concentration of a ferrous salt and an effective concentration of an aqueous extract of a plant selected from Viburnum plicatum leaves or flowers, and maple leaves.
