Vertical hearth barbecue grill

A multi-level barbecue grill comprising:

• a base cavity,
• a top lid positionable upwardly about a rear of said base cavity,
• a pair of sidewalls extending generally upward from respective sides of said base cavity to define a cooking region in front of said top lid,
• a firebox positionable generally upward form a rear portion of said base cavity,
• a main cooking grid positionable horizontally across a lower portion of said firebox, and
• a secondary cooking grid positionable above said main cooking grid,
• wherein said top lid includes a shelf that prevents substances from falling behind said firebox.

A multi-level barbecue grill comprising:

• a base cavity,
• a top lid positionable upwardly at a rear of said base cavity,
• a pair of sidewalls extending generally upward from respective sides of the base cavity to define a cooking region in front of said top lid,
• a fire box positionable generally upwardly from a rear portion of said base cavity,
• a main cooking grid positionable horizontally across a lower portion of said firebox,
• a secondary cooking grid positionable above said main cooking grids and a cover positionable with said sidewalls to transform said barbecue grill to an oven for baking, roasting, broiling and/or grilling.

A multi-level barbecue grill comprising:

• a base cavity,
• a top lid positionable upwardly near a rear of said base cavity,
• a pair of sidewalls extending generally upward from respective sides of said base cavity to define a cooking region in front of said top lid,
• a firebox positionable generally upward from a rear portion of said base cavity,
• a main cooking grid positionable horizontally across a lower portion of said firebox, and
• a secondary cooking grid positionable above said main cooking grid,
• wherein said sidewalls include inner and outer panels which provide thermal insulation via spacing between said inner and outer panels.

A tabletop barbecue grill comprising:

• a base cavity,
• a lid positionable upwardly near a rear of the base cavity,
• a pair of sidewalls extending generally upward from respective sides of the base cavity to define a cooking region in front of said lid,
• a firebox positionable generally upward near the rear of the base cavity,
• a main cooking grid positionable horizontally across a lower portion of the firebox, and
• a secondary cooking grid positionable above the main cooking grid,
• wherein the lid includes an inner shelf extending horizontally across the lid near an upper portion of the firebox thereby to prevent substances from falling behind the firebox.

A multi-level barbecue grill comprising:

• a base cavity,
• a lid positionable upwardly near a rear of the base cavity,
• a pair of sidewalls extending generally upward from respective sides of the base cavity to define a cooking region in front of said lid,
• a firebox positionable generally upward near the rear of the base cavity,
• a main cooking grid positionable horizontally across a lower portion of the firebox, and
• at least one secondary cooking grid positionable above the main cooking grid,
• wherein the sidewalls are spaced from respective sides of the firebox thereby providing thermal insulation between the firebox and the sidewalls, and further, the sidewalls include insulating panels attached thereto which provide an air insulating space between inner and outer panels of the respective sidewalls.
