Abstract
The invention relates to the sizing of substrates including paper, paperboard, wood and textiles, using an acetal sizing agent including 1,1-octadecoxyoctadecane, the distearyl acetal of stearyl aldehyde.
Claims7
A method of sizing a substrate comprising the steps of applying an effective amount of a sizing composition comprising distearyl acetal of a C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 aldehyde to said substrate, said substrate selected from the group consisting of paper, paperboard, wood and textiles.
