Abstract
This invention relates to peptide-containing .alpha.-ketoamide inhibitors of cysteine and serine proteases, methods for making these compounds, and methods for using the same.

A compound of having the Formula:
- ##STR77## wherein Q is selected from the group consisting of benzoyl, 2,6-dichlorobenzoyl, 2,6-dichloro-3-methylbenzoyl, 2,6-difluorobenzoyl, 2,4,6-trifluorobenzoyl, 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzoyl, 3,4-methylenedioxybenzoyl, 2,5-dichlorobenzoyl, 2-chloro -5-mrethoxybenzoyl, 3,5-biss(trifluoromethyl)benzoyl, 2,6-dimethylbenzoyl, 2,6-dichloronicotinoyl, 2,6-diethylbenzoyl, 2,6-dimethoxybenzoyl, 2-isopropylbenzoyl, 2-chloro-6-fluorobenzoyl, and 2-fluoro-6-trifluoromethylbenzoyl, and
- R is selected from the group consisting of ##STR78##
