Abstract
We have discovered epitopes of the HCV viral proteins which are immunoreactive with immune serum. The epitopes are useful in immunodiagnostic assays and as immunogens.

A polypeptide immunoreactive with an HCV antibody wherein the immunoreactive portion reactive with said HCV antibody is a segment of an HCV polypeptide less than or equal to 20 amino acids, wherein the amino terminal amino acid of the segment is amino acid 1940 of FIG. 72 (SEQ ID NOS:137-138).
A polypeptide immunoreactive with an HCV antibody wherein the immunoreactive portion reactive with said HCV antibody is a segment of an HCV polypeptide less than or equal to 20 amino acids wherein the amino terminal amino acid of the segment is amino acid 1218 of FIG. 72 (SEQ ID NOS:137-138).
