Abstract
A DNA expression vector is described which is characterized in that it comprises a DNA sequence that codes a protein which possesses the biological activity of nitrogen monoxide synthase (NOS) and eukaryotic regulation elements, wherein said eukaryotic regulation elements result in the expression of said DNA sequence in eukaryotic cells, as well as the use of the expression vector for treatment or prevention of vascular disorders.
Claims18
A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment and prevention of vascular disorders which comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as an active ingredient, a pharmaceutical agent comprising a DNA sequence encoding inducible nitrogen monoxide synthase (iNOS) and eukaryotic regulation elements which result in the expression of said DNA sequence in eukaryotic cells, wherein the pharmaceutical agent is complexed to liposomes.
A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment and prevention of high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, stenosis and restenosis comprising as an active ingredient a DNA expression vector which comprises a DNA sequence encoding inducible nitrogen monoxide synthase (iNOS) and eukaryotic regulation elements, wherein the expression vector is complexed to liposomes.
