Claims12
A composition comprising:
- (a) polyethylene;
- (b) as a scorch inhibitor, 1,1-diphenylethylene, substituted or unsubstituted;
- (c) optionally, a cure booster;
- and
- (d) an organic peroxide.
A cable comprising one or more electrical conductors or a core of electrical conductors, each conductor or core being surrounded by a cured composition comprising:
- (a) polyethylene;
- (b) as a scorch inhibitor, 1,1-diphenylethylene, substituted or unsubstituted;
- and
- (c) optionally, a cure booster.
A process for extrusion comprising extruding around on or more electrical conductors or a core of electrical conductors, at a temperature below the decomposition temperature of the organic peroxide, a composition comprising:
- (a) polyethylene;
- (b) as a scorch inhibitor, 1,1-diphenylethylene, substituted or unsubstituted;
- (c) optionally, a cure booster;
- and
- (d) an organic peroxide, and curing the extrudate.
