Abstract
Compounds of the general structural formula ##STR1## and use of the compounds and salts and solvates thereof, as therapeutic agents.
Claims13
A combination comprising:
- (a) a compound of having a formula:
- ##STR12## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, wherein:
- R.sup.0 represents hydrogen, halogen or C.sub.1-6 alkyl;
- R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of:
- (i) hydrogen;
- (ii) C.sub.1-6 alkyl optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from phenyl, halogen, --CO.sub.2 R.sup.a and --NR.sup.a R.sup.b ;
- (iii) C.sub.3-6 cycloalkyl;
- (iv) phenyl;
- and
- (v) a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring containing at least one heteroatom selected from oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur, and being optionally substituted by one or more C.sub.1-6 alkyl, and optionally linked to the nitrogen atom to which R.sup.1 is attached via C.sub.1-6 alkyl;
- R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of:
- (vi) C.sub.3-6 cycloalkyl;
- (vii) phenyl optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from --OR.sup.a, --NR.sup.a R.sup.b, halogen, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, cyano, and nitro;
- (viii) a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring containing at least one heteroatom selected from oxygen, nitrogen and sulphur;
- and ##STR13## (A) a bicyclic ring attached to the rest of the molecule via one of the benzene ring carbon atoms and A is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring as defined in point (h);
- and
- R.sup.a and R.sup.b independently represent hydrogen or C.sub.1-6 alkyl, and
- (b) a second therapeutically active agent,
- for simultaneous, separate, or sequential use in the treatment of a condition where inhibition of a cGMP-specific PDE is of a therapeutic benefit.
