Abstract
A bacterial gene which encodes an enzyme that is an acyl-CoA reductase. The acyl-CoA reductase is able to chemically reduce acyl-CoAs to their corresponding alcohols, via aldehyde intermediates.
Claims16
An isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a polypeptide having acyl-CoA reductase activity and having a nucleotide sequence at least about 60% similar to SEQ ID NO:1.
A recombinant DNA construct comprising a nucleic acid fragment encoding a polypeptide having acyl-CoA reductase activity and having a nucleotide sequence at least about 60% similar to SEQ ID NO:1.
A recombinant DNA construct comprising a nucleic acid fragment encoding the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:2.
