Basic azo compounds, their production and use

A basic azo compound of formula I ##STR36## wherein the two Rs independently of each other are H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.5-6 cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl or phenylethyl,

• T.sub.1 and T.sub.2 independently of each other are H, --CN, --COOR.sub.5, CONR.sub.6 R.sub.7, SO.sub.2 NR.sub.6 R.sub.7, ##STR37## R.sub.1 signifies C.sub.1-6 alkylene or C.sub.2-6 alkenylene, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently of each other are unsubstituted C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkyl substituted by OH, CN or halogen, phenyl-C.sub.1-3 alkyl, wherein the phenyl radical is optionally substituted from 1 to 3 times, by chlorine, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, unsubstituted C.sub.5-6 cycloalkyl or C.sub.5-6 cycloalkyl substituted from 1 to 3 times by C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups,
• R.sub.4 signifies any of the meanings of R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 or hydrogen,
• R.sub.5 signifies a C.sub.1-6 alkyl radical or phenyl-C.sub.1-3 alkyl radical,
• R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 independently of each other are H or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical,
• R.sub.8 independently of each other signifies H, a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical, --NR.sub.6 R.sub.7 or --CONR.sub.6 R.sub.7,
• R.sub.9 signifies a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical or a hydroxy-C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical,
• R.sub.10 signifies --S--, --O-- or ##STR38## R.sub.11 signifies hydrogen or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical, the two R.sub.12 's independently of each other, are halogen, OH, a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical or a C.sub.1-4 alkoxy radical,
• the two m's independently of each other, are 0, 1 or 2,
• X signifies:
• X.sub.1 a direct bond;
• X.sub.2 a straight or branched C.sub.1-4 alkylene;
• X.sub.3 --NH--CS--NH--;
• X.sub.4 --O--;
• X.sub.5 --CH.dbd.CH--;
• X.sub.6 --*NH--CO--;
• X.sub.6a --NH--*CO--;
• X.sub.7 ##STR39## wherein the asterixed atom is bonded to ring D.sub.1 ;
• ##STR40## R.sub.13 is halogen, a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical or a C.sub.1-4 alkoxy radical,
• R.sub.14 is straight or branched C.sub.1-4 -alkylene,
• the two R.sub.15 S independently of each other, are H or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl radical,
• R.sub.16 is halogen, --NHCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OH, --N(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OH).sub.2, NH.sub.2, OH or --NH(CH.sub.2).sub.2-3 N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5).sub.2,
• A.sup.- is an anion, or
• mixtures of two or more of the above compounds.
