Multilayer print circuit board having a blind hole in an insulation layer with a roughened surface formed by application of an oxidizing agent and method of production

A multilayer print circuit board comprising a substrate being electrically insulative;

• a first circuit pattern provided on at least one surface of the substrate;
• a composite layer having an inner insulation layer and an outer insulation layer laminated thereon, said composite layer being provided on the substrate to overlay the first circuit pattern, wherein the outer insulation layer comprises a resin composed of a bisphenol A epoxy, calcium carbonate powder and polybutadien as a shock resistant agent with the calcium carbonate powder having an average particle size of 2 to 4 .mu.m being dispersed in the resin, a weight ratio of 15 to 35 weight parts of calcium carbonate powder to 100 weight parts of resin, a weight ratio of 10 to 20 weight parts of polybutadien to 100 weight parts of resin, and wherein the inner insulation layer comprises a resin composed of bisphenol A epoxy and SiO.sub.2 powder having an average particle size of 1 to 3 .mu.m a weight ratio of 10 to 30 weight parts of SiO.sub.2 powder to 100 weight parts of resin;
• a blind hole provided in said composite layer so as to reach the first circuit pattern for exposing a surface of the first circuit pattern, the inner wall of the blind hole having a V-letter tapered shape geometry;
• a second circuit pattern provided on said outer insulation layer of the composite layer and on the inner wall of the blind hole so as to electrically connect the first circuit pattern to the second circuit pattern through the blind hole;
• an additional insulation layer comprising an outermost layer having an additional inner insulation layer and an additional outer insulation layer laminated thereon, said additional insulation layer being provided on the composite layer to overlay the second circuit pattern;
• a third circuit pattern provided on the additional insulation layer;
• an additional blind hole formed in the additional insulation layer for electrically connecting the second and third circuit patterns to each other, the additional blind hole having a V-letter tapered shape geometry;
• and
• wherein said outer insulation layer and said blind hole in said composite layer have a roughened surface formed by application of an oxidizing agent in which the calcium carbonate is soluble and in which the bisphenol A epoxy is insoluble with the oxidizing agent comprising potassium permanganate and caustic soda.

A multilayer print circuit board comprising:

• a substrate being electrically insulative;
• a first circuit pattern provided on at least one surface of the substrate;
• a composite layer having an inner insulation layer and an outer insulation layer laminated thereon, said composite layer being provided on the substrate to overlay the first circuit pattern, wherein the outer insulation layer comprises a resin composed of a bisphenol A epoxy, calcium carbonate powder and polybutadien as a shock resistant agent, wherein said calcium carbonate powder has an average particle size of 2 to 4 .mu.m being dispersed in the resin, a weight ratio of 15 to 35 weight parts of calcium carbonate powder to 100 weight parts of resin and wherein said polybutadien has a weight ratio of 10 to 20 weight parts of polybutadien to 100 weight parts of resin, and wherein the inner insulation layer comprises a resin composed of bisphenol A epoxy and SiO.sub.2 powder having an average particle size of 1 to 3 .mu.m, a weight ratio of 10 to 30 weight parts of SiO.sub.2 powder to 100 weight parts of resin;
• a blind hole provided in the outer insulation layer so as to reach the first circuit pattern for exposing a surface of the first circuit pattern, the inner wall of the blind hole having a V-letter tapered shape geometry;
• a second circuit pattern provided on said outer insulation layer and on the inner wall of the blind hole so as to electrically connect the first circuit pattern to the second circuit pattern through the blind hole;
• and
• wherein said outer insulation layer and said blind hole have a roughened surface formed by application of an oxidizing agent in which the calcium carbonate is soluble and in which the bisphenol A epoxy is insoluble with the oxidizing agent comprising potassium permanganate and caustic soda.
