Abstract
A tachykinin receptor antagonist is useful for treating or preventing attention deficit disorder, optionally associated with hyperactivity, in a patient.

A method for the treatment of attention deficit disorder in a patient suffering from or at risk for same which comprises administering an effective amount of a CNS-penetrating selective neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist to said patient.
