Abstract
An apparatus for molding hardenable material comprising a mold member having a cavity to receive hardenable material, a settling region for receiving a turbulated mix of hardenable material and a spout for discharging laminar flow into said cavity.

A method of converting a turbulated flow of hardenable material into a laminar flow of hardenable material, the method comprising the steps of:
- providing a channel defining
- a settling region, and
- a spout,
- the settling region having an enlarged squared-off end;
- and
- converting the turbulated flow of hardenable material into a laminar flow of hardenable material by passing the turbulated flow of hardenable material through the channel in a direction from the enlarged squared-off end.
