Claims41
A juvenile product kit comprising:
- a stroller including a frame, a seat, and a child restraining member connected to the frame to prevent a child from falling from the seat;
- an infant carrier including a frame, a connection mechanism including a first latch and a second latch, and an actuator carried by the infant carrier frame and operably connected to the first and second latches, wherein the first latch moves between a locked position securing the infant carrier to the child restraining member and an unlocked position allowing the infant carrier to be removed from the stroller;
- and
- a base unit adapted to be mounted in a vehicle for securing the infant carrier in the vehicle, the base unit including a first engaging portion that receives the first latch, and second and third engaging portions that receive the second latch, the first, second, and third engaging portions being spaced apart from each other, wherein each of the first and second latches is moveable between a locked position securing the infant carrier to the base unit and an unlocked position allowing the infant carrier to be removed from the base unit, and
- wherein the actuator moves both the first and second latches to their respective unlocked positions.
An infant carrier adapted to connect to a base unit and a stroller, wherein the base unit, which is securable to a vehicle, includes first, second, and third relatively spaced apart engaging portions for securing the infant carrier, and wherein the stroller has a child restraining member, the infant carrier comprising:
- a frame;
- a connection mechanism including a first latch and a second latch;
- and
- an actuator operably connected to the first and second latches,
- wherein the first latch is adapted to connect to the child restraining member of the stroller, and is movable between a locked position adapted for securing the infant carrier to the child restraining member and an unlocked position adapted for allowing the infant carrier to be removed from the stroller,
- wherein the first latch is adapted to connect to the first engaging portion of the base unit and the second latch is adapted to connect to both the second and third engaging portions of the base unit, and each of the first and second latches is movable between their respective locked positions adapted for securing the infant carrier to the base unit and their respective unlocked positions adapted for allowing the infant carrier to be removed from the base unit, and
- wherein the actuator moves both the first and second latches to their respective unlocked positions.
An infant carrier and base combination comprising:
- a base unit adapted for securing to a vehicle, the base unit including first, second, and third engaging portions;
- and
- an infant carrier comprising:
- a frame;
- a connection mechanism including a first latch and a second latch;
- and
- an actuator operably connected to the first and second latches,
- wherein the first latch connects to the first engaging portion of the base unit and the second latch connects to both the second and third engaging portions of the base unit, the first, second, and third engaging portions being spaced apart from each other, and each of the first and second latches is movable between respective locked positions securing the infant carrier to the base unit and respective unlocked positions allowing the infant carrier to be removed from the base unit, and
- wherein the actuator moves both the first and second latches to their respective unlocked positions.
