Abstract
Vaccines containing recombinant Listeria monocytogenes capable of expressing tumor specific antigens are provided. These vaccines, when administered to a host, are capable of inducing an immune response to the tumor specific antigen. Methods of using these vaccines in the suppression tumor formation are also provided.
Claims13
A method of inducing an immune response to a tumor-specific antigen in a host comprising administering to a host having cancer an effective amount of a vaccine comprising a recombinant form of Listeria monocytogenes which grows and spreads and is capable of expressing a tumor specific antigen, wherein said cancer is selected from the group consisting of leukemia, cervical cancer, melanoma, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.
A vaccine for inducing an immune response to a tumor specific antigen comprising a recombinant form of Listeria monocytogenes which grows and spreads and is capable of expressing a tumor specific antigen of a cancer selected from the group consisting of leukemia, cervical cancer, melanoma, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.
A method of suppressing formation of tumors in a host comprising administering to a host an effective amount of a vaccine comprising a recombinant form of Listeria monocytogenes which grows and spreads and is capable of expressing a tumor specific antigen of a cancer selected from the group consisting of leukemia, cervical cancer, melanoma, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.
