Abstract
Tetrakisazo dyes of formula (I), as defined in claim 1, optionally in admixture with trisazo dyes of formula (X) as defined in claim 4, are valuable anionic dyes for the dyeing of substrates dyeable with anionic dyes, in particular for the dyeing of leather in very intense dark shades.

A tetrakisazo dye of formula ##STR18## wherein one of the two symbols --X and --Y signifies --OH and the other signifies --NH.sub.2,
- Z signifies a radical of formula
- --W.sub.1 --N.dbd.N--B.sub.2 (.alpha.)
- or, if Y signifies --OH, also a radical of formula
- --W.sub.2 --N.dbd.N--D (.beta.)
- Q.sub.1 signifies --SO.sub.2 -- or --CO--,
- Q.sub.2 signifies the direct bond or, if Q.sub.1 is --SO.sub.2 --, also a group --SO.sub.2 --,
- B.sub.1 signifies the radical of a coupling component H--B.sub.1,
- B2 signifies the radical of a coupling component H--B.sub.2,
- D signifies the radical of a diazo component D--NH.sub.2,
- W.sub.1 signifies the radical of a bicyclic bisdiazo component,
- W.sub.2 signifies the radical of a bicyclic middle component, and
- M signifies hydrogen or a cation,
- or a mixture of two or more tetrakisazo dyes of formula (I).
