Compounds of the formula I ##STR1## a process for their preparation, their use in the treatment of autoimmune disorders as well as new intermediates for their preparation.
Claims16
A compound according to the formula I ##STR7## wherein A is hydrogen, C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 alkanoyl, (C.sub.6 aryl)carbonyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.19 alkoxycarbonyl, or (C.sub.6 aryloxy)carbonyl, or a protecting group;
- B is hydrogen, methyl, or ethyl;
- R is hydrogen, a straight, branched or cyclic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 alkanoyl, (C.sub.6 aryl)carbonyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.19 alkoxycarbonyl, (C.sub.6 aryloxy)carbonyl, or a protecting group;
- X.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or halogen;
- X.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or halogen;
- and
- Y is methylene or a single bond;
- and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof;
- the compounds
- (17E)-16.alpha.-Acetoxy-3-methoxy-19-norpregna-1,3,5(10),17(20)-tetraene;
- (17E)-16.alpha.-Hydroxy-3-methoxy-19-norpregna-1,3,5(10),17(20)-tetraene;
- and
- (17E)-16.beta.-Hydroxy-3-methoxy-19-norpregna-1,3,5(10),17(20)-tetraene
- being excluded.
