Optical disk and optical disk reproduction apparatus

An arrangement for reproducing image data stored in sectors in an optical disk, each of said sectors having main information and a sector address recorded therein, wherein:

• said main information includes at least compressed image data having a variable transfer rate;
• said optical disk has time codes stored therein, as well as a table stored at a selected location therein, which table contains information correlating said sector addresses and said time codes, a relationship between said sector addresses and said time codes being inconstant;
• and
• image data associated with a desired time code can be selectively reproduced by means of said information in said table correlating said sector addresses and said time codes.

An optical disk having main information and a sector address recorded in each of respective sectors thereon, wherein:

• said main information includes at least compressed image data having a variable transfer rate;
• said optical disk has time information stored therein, as well as a table stored at a selected location therein, which table contains information correlating said sector addresses and said time information, a relationship between said sector address and said time information being inconstant;
• and
• image data associated with desired time information can be selectively reproduced by means of said information in said table correlating said sector addresses and said time information.

An arrangement for reproducing image data stored in sectors in an optical disk, each of said sectors having main information and a sector address recorded therein, wherein:

• said main information includes at least compressed image data having a variable transfer rate;
• said optical disk has time information stored therein, as well as a table which is stored at a selected location therein, which table contains information correlating said sector addresses and said time information, a relationship between said sector addresses and said time information being inconstant;
• and
• image data associated with a desired time code can be selectively reproduced by means of said information in said table correlating said sector addresses and said time information.

An optical disk having recorded therein main information including compressed image data having a variable transfer rate, said optical disk comprising:

• a plurality of time codes encoded thereon at regular intervals;
• a plurality of sectors arranged at irregular intervals relative to said time codes, each of said sectors including a portion of said main information and a sector address, sector addresses of said respective sectors having an inconstant relationship with said time codes;
• and
• a correlation table stored at a selected location on said optical disk, which correlation table correlates said sector addresses with locations on said optical disk designated by said time codes;
• whereby main information associated with a desired time code can be reproduced selectively by means of information in said correlation table correlating said sector addresses.

An optical disk reproduction apparatus for reproducing image data from an optical disk having recorded therein:

• main information including compressed image data having a variable transfer rate;
• a plurality of time codes encoded on said optical disk at regular intervals;
• a plurality of sectors arranged on said optical disk at irregular intervals relative to said time codes, each of said sectors including a portion of said main information and a sector address, sector addresses of said respective sectors having an inconstant relationship with said time codes;
• and
• a correlation table stored at a selected location on said optical disk, which correlation table correlates said sector addresses with locations on said optical disk designated by said time codes, whereby main information associated with a desired time code can be reproduced selectively by means of information in said correlation table correlating said sector addresses;
• wherein said image data are selectively reproduced on the basis of the recorded time codes.
