Dry powder inhaler

An inhaler for delivering a dose of a pharmaceutical powder from a cartridge ring, comprising:

• a housing;
• a lid pivotally attached to the housing via a hinge, the lid having a top surface and a bottom surface;
• a slide groove assembly on the bottom surface of the lid, the slide groove assembly including a first wall and a second wall extending from the bottom surface of the lid and forming a groove between them;
• and
• a ratchet lever having an end slidably positioned in the slide groove.

An inhaler comprising:

• a housing having a top surface;
• a lid pivotally attached to the housing and movable from a closed position to an open position;
• a post on the top surface of the housing;
• a cartridge on the top surface of the housing, the cartridge having at least one plate and a cartridge ring rotatable relative to the at least one plate and the housing, and with the post extending through the at least one plate and preventing the at least one plate from rotating;
• means for advancing the cartridge as the lid is moved between the open and closed positions.

An inhaler comprising:

• a housing:
• a cartridge ring rotatably mounted on said housing;
• a lid pivotably attached to the housing;
• a ratchet device linking the lid and the cartridge ring for advancing said cartridge ring;
• and
• an ejector button on a bottom surface of said housing and a prong attached to the ejector button and extending through the housing to the cartridge ring.

An inhaler for delivering a drug dose from a cartridge ring, comprising:

• a housing having a front, a top, and a back;
• a lid pivotally attached to the housing;
• at least one post on top of the housing for locating a cartridge ring on the top of the housing;
• a ratchet lever on the housing under the cartridge ring and engaging both the lid and the cartridge ring, for advancing the cartridge ring with movement of the lid;
• and
• a powder drug port on the top of the housing and extending through the housing to a mixing chamber.

An inhaler comprising:

• a housing having a top surface;
• a lid pivotally attached to the housing and movable from a closed position to an open position;
• a post on the top surface of the housing;
• a cartridge on the top surface of the housing, the cartridge having at least one plate and a cartridge ring rotatable relative to the at least one plate and the housing, and with the post extending through the at least one plate and preventing the at least one plate from rotating;
• and
• a ratchet lever on the housing under the cartridge ring and engaging both the lid and the cartridge ring, for advancing the cartridge ring with movement of the lid.
