Abstract
A photothermographic material comprising a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on one surface of a support is to be exposed to laser light having a wavelength of less than 700 nm. The silver halide of the emulsion layer has a grain size of 0.01-0.1 .mu.m. A suitable dye is contained in the emulsion layer such that the layer may have an absorbance of 0.3-1.2 at the exposure wavelength. An image containing minimized interference fringes is obtainable.
Claims12
A photothermographic material comprising:
- a support having a first surface and a second surface, and
- a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer, which is to be exposed to laser light having a wavelength of less than 700 nm, on said first surface of said support, wherein
- the silver halide of said photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer has a grain size of up to 0.1 .mu.m and is spectrally sensitized by a sensitizing dye having a spectral sensitivity that corresponds to the spectral properties of said laser light, said photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer further comprises an organic silver salt, a reducing agent for the organic silver salt, and at least one dye, and said photographic silver halide emulsion layer has an absorbance of at least 0.3 at the exposure wavelength, said wavelength being less than 700 nm,
- wherein the photothermographic material further comprises at least one back layer disposed on said second surface of the support, said at least one back layer having an absorbance of at least 0.2 at the exposure wavelength, said wavelength being less than 700 nm.
