An ultrasonic imaging catheter comprises a catheter body having a distal region and proximal region. The distal region has a reduced cross-sectional area compared to that of the proximal region, and the proximal region includes at least two lumens therethrough for accommodating a movable guidewire and a rotatable working element, respectively. The catheter body may be inserted over the moveable guidewire, with the guidewire passing through a lumen in the distal region and the guidewire lumen in the proximal region. After positioning the catheter body, the guidewire can be retracted from the distal region and into the proximal region, leaving the lumen in the distal region available for the rotatable working element. Such a construction allows over-the-wire imaging of the catheter while minimizing the width of the catheter in the distal region which remains available for placement of the working element.
An intravascular device comprising a manifold and an elongate member having a proximal end connected to said manifold and a distal end with a first proximal opening at the proximal end of the elongate member communicating with a first lumen located therein, a first distal opening at the distal end of the elongate member communicating with the first lumen, and a second lumen located in the elongate member, a distal end of the second lumen terminating distally and communicating with the first lumen at a location therein proximal of the first distal opening, and further in which said second lumen terminates proximally at a location distal of the proximal end of the first lumen and said manifold.
An intravascular device comprising an elongate member having a proximal end and a distal end with a first proximal opening at the proximal end communicating with a first lumen, a first distal opening at the distal end communicating with the first lumen, and second proximal opening at the proximal end communicating with a second lumen, a distal end of the second lumen terminating and communicating with the first lumen at a location therein proximal of the first distal opening.
An intravascular device as in claim 24, which is an introducer sheath or a catheter.
An ultrasound imaging sheath comprising:
A vascular catheter body comprising:
An ultrasound imaging sheath comprising:
A catheter with a transition region, a single lumen, and a multiple lumen section where the single lumen divides into two or more lumens, comprising:
A guiding catheter body comprising a tubular member having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the tubular member includes a proximal region having at least two lumens and a distal region having a single lumen which is connected to and in communication with said at least two lumens and which has a cross-sectional area which is less than the combined cross-sectional areas of the two lumens of the proximal region.
