Tape printing device and tape cartridge used therein

A method in a tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a length of a tape, said tape printing device detachably receiving a tape cartridge which has a characteristic element identifying at least a tape width of said tape, said method comprising:

• inputting said desirable series of characters;
• reading said characteristic element of said tape cartridge to extract specific information on said tape stored therein;
• and
• determining a head driving condition based on results of said reading;
• and
• printing said desirable series of characters on said length of tape according to said determination.

A tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a length of a tape, said tape printing device detachably receiving a tape cartridge which has a characteristic element identifying at least a tape width of said tape, said tape printing device comprising:

• a key input element that inputs said desirable series of characters into said tape printing device;
• a tape width detection sensor that reads said characteristic element of said tape cartridge to extract specific information on said tape stored therein;
• and
• a control unit that determines a head driving condition based on results of said reading of said characteristic element,
• an output unit that prints said desirable series of characters on said length of tape according to said determination.

A tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a tape, said tape printing device detachably receiving a tape cartridge which has a characteristic element identifying specific information of said tape, said tape printing device comprising:

• input means for inputting said desirable series of characters;
• characteristic element reading means for reading said characteristic element of said tape cartridge to extract said specific information on said tape stored therein;
• and
• printing means for determining a feeding torque of said tape based on results of said reading by said characteristic element reading means, and for printing said desirable series of characters on said tape according to said determination.

A tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a tape, said tape printing device detachably receiving a tape cartridge which has a characteristic element identifying specific information of said tape, said tape printing device comprising:

• inputting said desirable series of characters;
• reading said characteristic element of said tape cartridge to extract said specific information on said tape stored therein;
• determining a feeding torque of said tape based on results of said reading;
• and
• printing said desirable series of characters on said tape according to said determination.

A tape printing device for printing a desirable series of characters on a tape, said tape printing device detachably receiving a tape cartridge which has a characteristic element identifying specific information of said tape, said tape printing device comprising:

• a key input element that inputs said desirable series of characters into said tape printing device;
• a detection sensor that reads said characteristic element of said tape cartridge to extract said specific information on said tape stored therein;
• a control unit that determines a feeding torque of said tape based on results of said reading of said characteristic element;
• and
• an output unit that prints said desirable series of characters on said tape according to said determination.
