Abstract
A novel use of doped carbonaceous material is disclosed, integral to the operation of Vacuum Diode Heat Pumps and Vacuum Diode Thermionic Generators. In the preferred embodiment, the use of nitrogen-doped diamond enhances the operation of Vacuum Diode Heat Pumps and Vacuum Diode Thermionic Generators.
Claims24
A device comprising:
- a collector, wherein said collector is thermally coupled to a mass to be heated;
- an emitter, wherein said emitter is thermally coupled to a mass to be cooled;
- and
- at least one of said collector or said emitter comprising a doped carbonaceous material, whereby a threshold voltage for the emission of electrons in said device is reduced.
