Abstract
In a translation display apparatus, a display section displays a plurality of original sentences of a first language. A user designates an area of the original sentences to be translated on the display through a translation area designation section. An area extraction section extracts the original sentences in the area designated by the translation area designation section. A translation section translates the original sentence extracted by the area extraction section from the first language to a second language. The display section displays the translated sentences translated by the translation section in the area designated by the translation area designation section.
Claims17
Translation display apparatus, comprising:
- display means for displaying a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- translation area designation means for designating an area of a displayed original sentence to be translated by a window on said display means;
- area extraction means for extracting the original sentences in the window designated by said translation area designation means;
- and
- translation means for translating the extracted original sentence from the first language to a second language;
- wherein said display means displays the translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
Translation display apparatus, comprising:
- display means for displaying a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- translation area designation means for designating an area of a displayed original sentence to be translated by a window on said display means;
- extraction means for extracting the plurality of original sentences displayed on said display means;
- and
- translation means for translating the plurality of original sentences extracted by said extraction means from the first language to a second language;
- wherein said extraction means extracts a translated sentence corresponding to one of the original sentences in the window designated by said translation area designation means from all translated sentences translated by said translation means, and
- wherein said display means displays the extracted translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
A method for displaying a translated sentence, comprising the steps of:
- displaying a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- designating an area of a displayed original sentence by a window;
- extracting the original sentence in the window;
- translating the extracted original sentence from the first language to a second language;
- and
- displaying the translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
A method for displaying a translated sentence, comprising the steps of:
- displaying a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- designating an area of a displayed original sentence by a window;
- extracting the displayed plurality of original sentences;
- translating the plurality of original sentences extracted at the extracting step from the first language to a second language;
- extracting a translated sentence corresponding to the original sentence in the window from all translated sentences translated at the translating step;
- and
- displaying the extracted translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
A computer-readable memory comprising:
- instruction means for causing a computer to display a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- instruction means for causing a computer to designate an area of a displayed original sentence by a window;
- instruction means for causing a computer to extract the original sentence in the window;
- instruction means for causing a computer to translate the extracted original sentence from the first language to a second language;
- and
- instruction means for causing a computer to display the translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
A computer-readable memory comprising:
- instruction means for causing a computer to display a plurality of original sentences of a first language;
- instruction means for causing a computer to designate an area of a displayed original sentence by a window;
- instruction means for causing a computer to extract the displayed plurality of original sentences;
- instruction means for causing a computer to translate the extracted plurality of original sentences from the first language to a second language;
- instruction means for causing a computer to extract a translated sentence corresponding to the original sentence in the window from all translated sentences;
- and
- instruction means for causing a computer to display the extracted translated sentence over the original sentence in the window.
