Abstract
The present invention provides an amorphous alloy containing at least one element of Fe, Co, and Ni as a main component, at least one element of Zr, Nb, Ta, Hf, Mo, Ti and V, and B, wherein the temperature width .DELTA.Tx of a supercooled liquid region expressed by the equation .DELTA.Tx=Tx-Tg (wherein Tx indicates the crystallization temperature, and Tg indicates the glass transition temperature) is 20.degree. C. or more. The amorphous alloy has excellent soft magnetic properties and high hardness, and can suitably be used for a transformer, a magnetic head, a tool, etc.
Claims3
A Co-based amorphous soft magnetic alloy expressed by the following formula:
- Co.sub.100-x-y-z-w T.sub.x M.sub.y M'.sub.z B.sub.w
- wherein T is one or both of Fe an Ni, M is at least one of Zr, Nb, Ta, Hf and Mo, M' is at least of W, Cr, Mn, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt, Al, Ga, Ge, C and P, wherein 0.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.20 (atomic %), 5.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.15 (atomic %), 0.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.10 (atomic %) and 15.ltoreq.w.ltoreq.22 (atomic %), wherein the temperature width .DELTA.Tx of a supercooled liquid region expressed by the equation .DELTA.Tx=Tx-Tg (wherein Tx is the crystallization start temperature, and Tg is the glass transition point) is 20.degree. C. or more.
