Borneol esters, process for their production, and their pharmaceutical use

A compound of formula I ##STR11## wherein R.sup.1 means T--C(O)--CH(OR.sup.6)--CH(NHR.sup.7a R.sup.7b)--R.sup.8, or C(O)--CH(OR.sup.6a)--CH[NR.sup.7 (C(O)--CH(OR.sup.6b)--CH(NR.sup.7a R.sup.7b)--R.sup.8a)]--R.sup.8b,

• R.sup.2 means hydrogen, --OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkoxy, --OC(O)R.sup.9a, --OSO.sub.2 R.sup.9a, NHR.sup.9a, or NR.sup.9a R.sup.9b,
• R.sup.3 means hydrogen, --OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkoxy, --OC(O)R.sup.9b, or --OSO.sub.2 R.sup.9b, or R.sup.2, R.sup.3 together mean an oxygen atom,
• R.sup.4 means hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.p --OR.sup.11a,
• R.sup.5 means hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.p --OR.sup.11b, or
• R.sup.4, R.sup.5 together mean an oxygen atom, a .dbd.CHR.sup.10 group, a --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 group, or a CH.sub.2 --O group,
• R.sup.6a, R.sup.6b are the same or different and each is an R.sup.6 group,
• R.sup.6 means hydrogen, C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 acyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.20 aralkyl, --SO.sub.2 R.sup.9c, or R.sup.15,
• R.sup.7a, R.sup.7b are the same or different and each is an R.sup.7 group,
• R.sup.7 means hydrogen, A, --C(O)R.sup.12, --C(O)OR.sup.12, --C(O)SR.sup.12, --C(O)NHR.sup.9d, --C(O)NR.sup.9d R.sup.9e, --SO.sub.2 R.sup.12, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl,
• R.sup.8a, R.sup.8b are the same or different and each is an R.sup.8 group,
• R.sup.8 means ##STR12## heteroaryl substituted by X.sup.3, C.sub.7 -C.sub.16 aralkyl, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, wherein heteroaryl is furyl, thienyl, pyridyl, pyrazolyl, pyrimidinyl, oxazolyl, pyridazinyl, pyrazinyl or quinolyl,
• R.sup.9a-e,g, R.sup.12 are the same or different and mean C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl, C.sub.4 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, or C.sub.7 -C.sub.20 aralkyl,
• R.sup.10 means hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, or --(CH.sub.2).sub.s --OR.sup.13,
• R.sup.11a,b, R.sup.13 are the same or different and mean hydrogen,
• C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 acyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.20 aralkyl, or --SO.sub.2 R.sup.9c,
• R.sup.14a,b are the same or different and each is an R.sup.14 group, wherein R.sup.14 means hydrogen, A, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, or C.sub.7 -C.sub.16 aralkyl,
• R.sup.15 means (Y.sup.i.sub.1 --Y.sup.i.sub.2 --Y.sup.i.sub.3 -- . . . --Y.sub.i.sub.r)--H,
• A means B--[O--(CH.sub.2).sub.t --C(O)].sub.0-1, or farnesyl--P(O)(OR.sup.9d 0--O--(CH.sub.2).sub.t --C(O)--,
• B means an inhibitor of a protein kinase or an inhibitor of farnesyl protein transferase, linked to the molecule,
• T means a bond, Z.sup.i, or a group ##STR13## X.sup.1 -X.sup.4 are the same or different and means X, provided that X.sup.3 and X.sup.4 in the case of R.sup.8 and R.sup.8b are not present at the same time, in the meaning of hydrogen,
• X can be hydrogen, halogen, --NO.sub.2, --N.sub.3, --CN, --NR.sup.14a R.sup.14b,
• --NHSO.sub.2 R.sup.9g, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 acyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 acyloxy, OR.sup.6,
• --OP(O)R.sup.9g (OR.sup.12)--CO.sub.2 R.sup.14, or --O--A,
• Y.sup.i.sub.1-r are the same or different and mean --[C(O)--W.sup.i --NH]--.dbd.Z.sup.i,
• Y.sup.i.sub.1-r are the same or different and mean --[C(O)--W.sup.i --NH]--.dbd.Z.sup.i, wherein Z.sup.i as HO--Z.sup.i --H represents an .alpha.-, .beta.- or .gamma.-amino acid "i" that is linked to the molecule via the C(O)--OH end of the amino acid,
• n means 0 to 8
• p means 1 to 8
• r means 1 to 5
• s means 1 to 8
• t means 1 to 6,
• and/or free amino groups in R.sup.1, R.sup.15 or X, or free acid groups in X, are converted into their salts with physiologically compatible acids or bases.
